Christmas has just passed .... too fast.
This year I have not had time to get into the Christmas spirit, I felt the atmosphere will the feelings of the other years.
'm not one that gets picked up by the frenzy of shopping, gifts, shopping at all costs, but other years I have heard more about the atmosphere in those days.
The decorations and the many bright lights, the desire to be with all your loved ones.
I like to spend these days together, carefully prepared the table, being careful to detail. I like to see the sparkling lights of the tree, the reflections of the balls. Yet this year I could not wait to be over ............ will be that I'm getting old?

Woody is more and more disillusioned with ...
If it were not for his unique style and for some moments a bit 'more lively, the film, the story perhaps more obvious than others (see Match Point), it would not be a masterpiece.
vicedo The pair of protagonists, Alfie (an evergreen Hopkins) and Helena and their daughter Sally married Roy, revolve around a clear sense of loneliness and dissatisfaction. If there is one thing that Woody excels is the characterization, even in this case excellent, which is the fulcrum true of the film.
Alfie does not accept over the years and the loss of son and look for a new and fake youth in the arms of the first phone call that comes in sight and, cunningly, taking advantage of the situation.
Helena, destroyed by the separation from Alfie is in my opinion the most successful character in the film: her to seek comfort in the clutches of a fortune-teller, which is nothing but a nice cheater, he manages to find a new unstable to live and to start trusting in a bright but ill-defined future and relying on very different style to the spirits! With these powers the only tall dark stranger (translated in Italian as "man of your dreams") that will be able adaccalappiare a red, low little man, fond of occult, haunted by the memory of his dead wife with which he keeps in constant contact.
Sally, just a nice Naomi Watts, from his unhappy relationship with her husband Roy, and still economically dependent on the mother, has actually incotrato unknown man of her dreams! Is none other than Greg (Antonio Banderas), his boss, with his wife in crisis, but interested in anything but poor Sally. The scene in which I most recognized Woody Allen starring Greg and Sally just when it decided, unfortunately, to make clear his feelings, believing that they can be paid .. Greg's reaction is phenomenal! a real non-communication to Beckett, but wanted!
Roy is the all too common writer depressed after a successful book does is collect and failures, to feel less bitter begins to flirt with a girl in front of the window, with which he betroth after separating from his wife . At the height of the plate will retain the merit of the work before a friend who thought he was dead after an accident but that will be revealed only in a coma ... Let's just say that Roy did not excited me, it's just the desperately trying to reverse his fate with header but before the end, the screen will be more desperate than before.
A curiosity: Woody has to be a fan of opera, particularly in Donizetti ... Match Point soundtrack revolves around an air by furtiva lacrima ' Elisir d'Amore, in the latter film Greg and Sally enjoying the Lucia di Lammermoor ! It will be a chance?
So, to conclude: a good movie than in programming under the Christmas holidays, but certainly not the best of the latest Woody Allen.
